Update:
CMS Medicare is now returning the actual Physical/Speech and Occupational Therapy Used Amounts in eligibility responses. Current eligibility responses will continue to designate the amount as "Remaining" but it is the actual Therapy Used Amount. The payer will perform maintenance in mid-November to replace "Remaining" with "Used."

Previous update sent 10/08/2012:
The date for returning $0 in the Therapy Used Amount has been extended to October 11, 2012. The Therapy Used Amount returned in the eligibility response will temporarily show as $0 for most Medicare beneficiaries between October 1, 2012 and October 11, 2012. Submitters planning to update their beneficiary records to reflect the change in Therapy financial data should wait until after October 11, 2012.

Original notice sent 09/27/2012:
Effective October 1, 2012, the Physical/Speech and Occupational Therapy Used Amount returned in the eligibility response will show actual Therapy service usage per the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines.

The Therapy Used Amount returned in the eligibility response will temporarily show as $0 for most Medicare beneficiaries between October 1, 2012 and October 8, 2012. Submitters planning to update their beneficiary records to reflect the change in Therapy financial data should wait until after October 8, 2012.

Action Required: Wait until after October 8, 2012 to update your beneficiary records to reflect this change in Therapy Used Amount.
