The clearinghouse has been experiencing issues with Michigan Blue Cross Blue Shield eligibility transactions due to a payer processing issue.

We understand the impact of these issues on your operation and the clearinghouse is working closely with the payer to address them. At this time we received the following updates from the payer regarding two issues currently outstanding:

• Incorrect alpha prefix being returned - Estimated resolution date is September 24, 2012.

• Duplicate Subscriber ID errors - No estimated resolution date at this time. Payer continues to work toward identifying a solution for this issue.

In addition, the clearinghouse has continued to express concern to Michigan Blue Cross Blue Shield regarding discrepancies between their website and X12 data. The payer has indicated that the sources do not match because of their inability to access the procedure code level in their X12 system versus having this capability within their website. The payer indicated they accept all service type codes, so testing different scenarios may yield different data returned in the response.

Action Required: If you are not receiving a specific data element, try submitting using a different service type code.
