CollaborateMD Celebrates Ten-year Anniversary
Orlando, FL.—June 25, 2009—This year, CollaborateMD celebrates their tenth anniversary of providing hybrid SaaS practice management and medical billing software to physician offices and third-party billing services.
Reflecting on what initially triggered the development of CollaborateMD’s first software version, Founder & CEO Douglas Kegler explained, “I had begun writing several programs, but found a common problem: a combination of cluttered & cumbersome applications, surging IT expenditures, and clearinghouse and payer connection challenges made medical billing software virtually unattainable for practices with less than 25 physicians. CollaborateMD Announces Agreement with 3M Health Information Systems
The 3M Medical Necessity and Compliance content brings enhanced coding and compliance functionality to CollaborateMD’s suite of solutions
Orlando, Florida (June 11, 2009) – CollaborateMD has signed an agreement with 3M Health Information Systems to offer 3M’s medical necessity coding content integrated with the CollaborateMD medical billing software application. 3M’s content combined with the CollaborateMD application will help healthcare providers reduce claim denials, shorten A/R cycles, and enhance workflow efficiency.
With the agreement, CollaborateMD customers will gain access to the 3M Medical Necessity and Compliance content, which allows users to access current and historic Medicare and selected Medicaid data sets, as well as national and local coverage determinations. 3M’s industry-leading medical necessity content is created and maintained by a skilled team of healthcare policy and coding specialists.

Partnership Expands Interfacing Opportunities for CollaborateMD Customers

X-Link’s middleware offers a data exchange between CollaborateMD medical billing software and data service providers offered by a variety of manufacturers, which will afford current and prospective CollaborateMD users the opportunity to easily interface with multiple electronic medical record (EMR), lab, and mobile device solutions.
Patient demographics, insurance, appointments, and charge capture are the most commonly exchanged types of data. This content presents itself in a wide variety of formats and is transmitted across a myriad of connections, which is why a versatile middleware solution vastly eases the adoption of an EMR or other type of software that shares information with CollaborateMD’s solution.
