WebMBS Goes Live With One of The First Internet-Based
Medical Billing Software Programs

Orlando, FL; January 1, 2000- - WebMBS, LLC., a leading provider of Internet-based practice management and medical billing software for the healthcare industry, announced today the release of it's production Internet-based medical billing software.

"I've been waiting for this day since I came up with the idea in 1998," said Douglas A. Kegler, President and CEO. "I am very excited for the healthcare community to have an opportunity to experience one of the first medical billing programs that operates over the Internet."

WebMBS currently allows for entry of practices, providers, payers, facilities, cpt and icd codes, patients, claims, and payments. No double entry is required anywhere in the program which makes it very efficient for offices. Communication between the client and our servers is done over a secure, 128-bit SSL connection and firewalls are in place to protect the customers data on the WebMBS server.

WebMBS is written in Java and is a client/server model which means customers still have to install a small piece of software on their computer. "WebMBS was written for speed and efficiency which is why is doesn't run through an Internet Browser like I.E.," commented Douglas Kegler. "Most people have dial-up access right now and running the program through a browser is just too slow," said Mr. Kegler.

Mr. Kegler realized in 1998 that he could utilize the Internet to make medical billing offices more efficient and save them money. WebMBS handles the connections and communication to the clearinghouse saving the medical offices the headaches of utilizing a modem and spending time sending to each of their payers. There is no upfront costs for the software and the customers are billed low per transactions each month based on their usage.
