Determine What Version of Java to Use

CollaborateMD v9.6 requires a version of Java to be installed on your computer. Oracle, the owner of Java, has made a major change on how it will license the use of Java.  Effective January 2019, public updates for business, commercial or production use of Oracle Java SE will require a paid commercial license subscription. Additional details about this change can be found in the links at the bottom of this page. You will need to work with your Information Technology (IT) department or responsible individual to determine which version of Java is best for your business. Your options for using Java include the following:

  • Use the latest version of Azul’s free and open source version, Zulu builds of OpenJDK
