CMD Version 8.4 has reached its End of Life

CMD Users,Please be aware that CollaborateMD v8.4 has reached its end of life (EOL) and will be removed from service on Tuesday, February 5th 2013 , at 11 pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Users currently on v8.4 should immediately upgrade to our latest release, version 8.5 before 11 pm EDT on February 5 to avoid any business interruptions associated with the discontinuation of v8.4.Our v8.5 release introduces our newest enhancement, the Central Business Intelligence (CBI) Reporting Capability along with other enhancements in: batch patient eligibility, expanded alert management, enhancement patient receipts, and two dozen user requested innovative ideas from CMDs crowd sourcing platform.Prior to updating to version 8.5, you are encouraged to review the release notes and recorded webinars located on our training website. In addition, you will find highlights and overview videos complimenting the v8.5 release.It's easy to upgrade! You can simply follow the step by step instructions found in our solutions database on the Self Service Portal -- just search How do I update to the most recent Version of CollaborateMD?Please note that if you are a Windows Vista or Windows 7 user and receive a warning message similar to You do not have privileges to update the program" when launching the program, you will need to start the program as an Administrator. To do this, close CollaborateMD, right click the CollaborateMD icon located on your desktop and select "Run as Administrator in the pull down menu. We are excited to announce that CollaborateMD will be moving to a new office next month! How to Avoid Common 5010 Payer Rejections

The final modifications to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules will be in effect January 1, 2012. These requirements include the format upgrade of electronic transactions such as claims, remittance, eligibility and claim responses to version 5010.CollaborateMD gives you the opportunity to get a head start on making some of those changes today to avoid future payer rejections.9 Digit Zip Codes Required for Selected Fields:As of January 1, 2012, 5010 standards will require a 9 digit Zip Code for the Billing Provider and Service Facility Location. Providers may begin submitting full 9 digit Zip Codes prior to their 5010 conversion.There are three simple steps to make these changes:1.From the Practice section, you can update your Billing Provider Zip Code to 9 digits.2.From the Facility section, you can update your Service Facility Location Zip Code to 9 digits.3.From the Payer section, if you are using alternate Practice info to override the Practice address, be sure to update the Zip Code field to 9 digits.Quick Tip!You can find your 9 digit zip code by typing your address in to the Postal Service Zip Code Look-up Tool. Version 8.3.6 Security Measures

We are excited to announce that we have enhanced our security measures in Version 8.3.6! CollaborateMD has implemented fields for you to enter in Security Questions and a Call-In PIN. These features can be found in the System section of the application under the User Profile tab.The Security Questions will be used to allow you to reset your password via the CollaborateMD Portal in the event that you forget it. In order to reset your password via the Portal you will be required to set up two security questions and responses that will remain private.The Call-In PIN is a four digit number that will be used to verify your identity by our support team when you call in to request certain administrative actions (i.e. adding a new user). This feature will increase security surrounding your account and ensure unauthorized changes cannot occur.Below is a list of example actions that would require verification of Administrators Call-In PIN when calling into Support:

Provider to Production
Adding a Practice
Adding/ Deleting User
Editing User Permissions
Resetting Password
Turning off Elective Services (Phone Notify, Eligibility, Address Verification, etc.)
Closing Customer Account

It is important that your Security Questions, Call-In PIN and password are always kept private and should never be shared with anyone else. If at any point you suspect this information is known by any other individual other than yourself, please update your profile information immediately to prevent any possibility of unauthorized changes to your account. Please keep in mind that the CMD staff only has access to your information in the User Profile section. We do not have access to your password at any time.If you need assistance in setting up your Security Questions and Call-In PIN, weve created training modules that support these changes.
