CollaborateMD: Your Medical Billing Software Provider

Academic Use

ClaimGear

ClaimGear, the courseware version of CollaborateMD, is an enhanced version of our Internet-based practice management and medical billing software used by thousands of physicians across the country. Designed specifically for educational use, students working in ClaimGear can input patients, procedure and diagnosis codes, and insurance and patient payments. Both CMS-1500 and 1450 claims can be used, and—once entered into the system—are graded for accuracy and completeness.

Geared for practical application, ClaimGear gives students the capability to validate their claims through the Faciledi HIPAA and Payer Validation Engine, which is a product of Ingenix. This allows students to see real-life errors and problems in their claims based on ANSI, payer-specific, and Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) edits. A custom-made Web portal allows students to view test results and gives instructors the necessary tools to manage and maintain their students and classes.

ClaimGear Support

If you are a student in need of technical support, please contact your instructor for assistance. If you are an instructor in need of technical support, please contact your local campus system administrator.

Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (CCi)

Corinthian Colleges, Inc. is one of the largest post-secondary education companies in North America, operating 94 schools in 24 states in the U.S. and 32 schools in seven provinces in Canada. To further the Company’s mission of preparing students for advancement in their chosen career, CCi partnered with CollaborateMD in 2006 to offer their students medical billing software uniquely designed for educational use. After ClaimGear was installed at various CCi campuses, Corinthian Colleges, Inc. no longer needed to support the software running on their servers, saving the Company significant time and money. CollaborateMD continues to work directly with CCi to provide continued software support and updates throughout the country.

McGraw-Hill

In 2006, McGraw-Hill contracted CollaborateMD to publish and distribute course books—containing either a three- or six-month ClaimGear license—exclusively to Corinthian Colleges, Inc. for their medical billing and coding educational programs.

Academic Incentive Program

ClaimGear was designed to prepare students for prosperous careers in the Healthcare IT industry, and to provide instructors with a high-quality medical billing teaching tool. CCi graduates often find job placement in practices and billing services that could greatly benefit from the ClaimGear real-world equivalent, CollaborateMD. To reward the students recommending our product, the instructors facilitating the learning, and the offices purchasing our software on the recommendation of certified ClaimGear users, CollaborateMD has instituted a special academic incentive program. For instructors, once the requirements of the program are met, CollaborateMD will present them with $400. For students, CollaborateMD will present $300 to referring students and $100 to new customers. For a list of requirements and more details on the academic incentive program, please visit the Referral page.
